January Favorites

Samstag, 31. Januar 2015
Time flies so fast! I hope you all managed to get through the fist month of 2015 and everything is going well. It’s already been a month since X-mas and my holidays (uni) are almost over (sad). But this are my favorite make up bits that I used all the time.

First I loved this Max Factor Face Finity Primer from the drugstore. It evens out the complexion and makes foundation last longer. I used it on an everyday basis.

I also loved the Dior Star Foundation (shade: Nr. 021 Linen) for almost 2 months now. It’s a medium to full coverage foundation that leaves a glowy and flawless finish. I usally just aply one thin layer with a buffing brush and really blend it in. Amazing longevity and the packaging is so luxe.

On top of the foundation I liked to use the Make Up For Ever Full Coverage Concealer (shade: Nr. 6 Ivory) – longest name ever. You only need a tiny bit, because it’s very pigmented, but it blends in beautifully. It doesn’t creases and it’s very longlasting. I have a problem i fit runs out because you can’t get it anywhere in Germany. To highlight under the eyes and to hide dark circles I used the pigmented True Match - le correcteur concealer from L’Oréal (shade: Nr. 02 vanilla).

To set everything in place and to keep the oil at bae I liked to use the MAC Studio Fix Powder (shade: NW 25). It’s gives you an extra layer of coverage and keeps the foundation and the oil all day long. But the most imporant thing is that it’s not cakey even if you reapply it.

I don’t have cheekbones if i don’t use a bronzer. I liked this one from the drugstore the L’Oréal  (shade: Nr. 101 Blonde Harmony). The color is not to dark so it’s perfect for warming up the complexion on a everyday basis. I apply it in an E-shape and down my nose.

To make my cheeks pop and to give myself a little color I loved the limited edition Lightness Of Being Blush from MAC (shade: Please yourself). I love rosy cheeks and the formula is so creamy and easy to blend.

I alaso applyed this limited edition highlighter from the Lightness of Being Collection from MAC (shade: Lightscapade) on top of my cheekbones and down the nose. It looks like you’re lit from within and it also give you a healthy glow.

For the eyes I used the limited edition eyeshadows from the Lightness of Being Collection from MAC (shades: Natural Vigor, Force of Nature). On top I used the L’Oréal Super Liner and the Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybellline. To set my brows in place I used the L’Oréal Brow Artist. It gives a little bit of color and it also makes your brows look polished and not flying around.

Lastly I used the NARS Audacios Lipstick (shade: Grace) on my lips. It’s a warm and vibrant pink that makes you look awake and put together. It lasts all day long and it’s not drying. To set everything in place I use the Urban Decay all nighter.

Top 5: Lip gloss

Mittwoch, 28. Januar 2015
I'm all about peachy-pink, pigemnted, glossy, hydrating, non-sticky lip glosses. I think lips look fuller and jucier when you wear a gloss. You can even put it in the center of the lips over a lipstick to catch the light. I also prefer lip glosses which smell yummy and don't leave the tacky feeling.

Dior Addict Fluid Stick (shade: Nr. 373 Riesue)

It’s a fluid lipstick which feels very balmy and hydrating on the lips. The formula is thicker than a gloss but again it’s not sticky. I also really like the coraly shade and the packaging. Dior just do amazing products and I’ve never been disappointed.

Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss (shade: Nr. 16 Extase)

This product is so diffrent to everything else that I own. It’s so pigmented, but not like a stain, it’s more like a liquid lipstick. They’re so comfortable as a normal gloss just slightly heavier on the lips. Most imporant it’s not sticky and it’s longlasting. It also fades evenly and just leaves a nice stain.

Maybelline Color Elixir Liquid Lip Balms (shade: Nr. 710 Rose Redefined)

There are 20 different shades in the range and they’re sooooo glossy and hydrating. They also really feel like a lip balm on the lips but the longevity is awesome and they’re also not sticky. This raspberry nude is my favorite.

Maybelline Color Elixir Liquid Lip Balms (shade: Nr. 400 Alluring Coral)

The bolder shades need a couple of layers to achieve a bold look, but they have the same formula as the nudes. This coraly shade is bold but also subtle and not in your face.

NYX Butter Gloss (shade: Nr. BLG 05 créme brûlée)

I had this on my wish list for a long time after I saw so many youtubers rave about it. And they all were right! It’s a comfortable lip balm, gloss (not sticky) and tint hybrid. I love peachy pink colors and the smell is just amazing – it really smells like creme brule. YUMMY!

Top 5: Pink Lipsticks

Samstag, 10. Januar 2015
You already know my love for lipsticks, I have so many but all in a similar shade. If a lipstick is more pigmented I don’t want it to be drying or smudging. I also like it to use pink lipsticks when I'm tired or sick to look more awake and fresh (people don't stare at your non-concealable massive dark circles haha).

Nars Audacious Lipstick (shade: Greta - wild azalea)

Firstly, the packaging is so beautiful! The squared, magnetic bullet is my favorite. The color is very bright and eyecatching because it's so unique. It's creamy, highly pigmented you only need one layer and it's not drying! I have to say that you will need a lipliner otherwise it can get a little bit messy (you can see it on the foto, but I wanted to show the real color) if you have uneven lips like me.

Mac Lipstick (shade: Lustering)

Mac lipsticks are highend nur they're not as pricy as the Tom Ford ones. The quality is the same- they're creamy, hydrating and pigmented. This one applys more sheer on the lips that it looks in the bullet but you can build it up. I would recommend these to anyone.

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Color (shade: Nr. 01 Raspberry Shimmer)

This is a darker pink with a lot of (finely) shimmer in it. I’ve nerver seen a lipstick like this before. At first I thought it would be draging on the lips – but it’s not! It’s so creamy and longlasting. When it catches the light it makes your lips look so juicy and plump.

Dior Rouge Dior Baume (shade: Nr. 688 Diorette)

I’ve already mentioned it here, but I love this raspberry pink so I have to include it. "Now with the colder weather my lips are very dry and I don’t like wearing lipbalm without colour in the daytime. So the Dior „Rouge Dior Baume“ in Nr. 688 Diorette is perfect. It’s so moisturizing and doesn’t feel sticky on the lips. The colour is suttle but it enhances your complexion."

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté (shade: Nr. 08 Fetish Pink)

I love every lipstick from YSL. They’re are more creamy and hydrating that any other lipstick. You can apply a sheer layer and dap it in to get a nice wash of color or you can really build it up a get the intensive glossy color. This shade is a barbie-pink but in the summer it looks so good with taned skin.

Top 5: Mascaras

Dienstag, 6. Januar 2015
I think mascara is the most important step in my makeup routine. I have very short lashes, so I like those wet formulas that really lengthens, gives lots of volume and doesn't smudges.

Yves Saint Laurent - Shocking (shade: 01 Deep Black)

It’s my favorite Mascara ever. The packaging is so luxe and the wand is so thick and really adds drama to your lashes. No smudging, but it really gives those spidery lashes – it’s perfect if you like that smockey look. You can easily get it off with some oil based eye makeup remover. Perfect!

Dior - Dioshow Iconic Overcurl (shade: 090 Catwalk Black)

This is the perfect mascara for lazy girls. You don’t even have to curl you lashes - it gives and holds the curl all day long. The only downside of it is that the formula isn’t so wet and drys out quickly. So it's not really worth the high price tag.

L’oreal - False Lash Butterfly Intenza (shade: Black Matte)

This newly released mascara from L'oreal is so affordable because it's from the drugstore. It leghtens, separates and gives lots of volume – especially at the outer corner of the lashes. So it gives a cat-eye-effect and doesn’t smudges. Top!

Foto 4: L’oreal – Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara (shade: Black)

The plastic wand of this mascara is separating and volumizing. The formula is really wet so it gives a really definded and fluttery look to the lashes. It's from the drugstore and smells so like flowers. Perfect.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (shade: Black)

I use it on a everyday basis and it’s so tiny that you can take it everywhere with you. The formula is smudge-resistant and I know the tiny brush looks like a gimmick but if you try it it’s life changing!!!
The bottom lashes are looking leghtenend and defined, but not clumpy at all. It gives a very natural look and it really opens your eyes. Lastly it's so easy to remove it and you don’t have to pull on your lashes.

Top 5: Highend Foundations

Sonntag, 4. Januar 2015
Personally I like to wear foundation on a daily basis because I feel very uncomfortable with my acne scars and the pigmentation on my skin. So here are my Top 5 witch I use on a daily basis and on evenings.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk (shade: 5)

It's my favorite foundation of all time! This foundation reigns with the amazing semi-matte finish. It turns bad skin days into good ones. It looks glowy, non-sweaty and has a brightening effect on the skin. Medium coverage, incredible lasting power, photographs beautifully because there's no SPF in it- so it's perfect for the evening.

Dior Star Foundation (shade: 021 Linen)

I’ve already mentioned it here. „As the name „Dior Star Foundation“ says – it really is a star! The coverage is buildable and it’s leaving a light sheen on the skin, which doesn’t make you look greasy even if you have oilyer skin like me (combination skin). It also lasts all day long and you don’t even need to set it with powder. Colour-wise there’s a good range. I have the colour Nr. 021 Linen. Well, the bottle is so luxe! You get what you pay for.“

3. Foto: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (B10)

The liquid formula almost like water. In addition to that it's so lightweight but it gives a light-medium coverage which is build able. It evens out the skin tone but it doesn’t really hide blemishes you need to use a concealer on top of it. You will be super glowing and fresh looking but oily girls will need a little bit powder.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solution (shade: 02 fresh ivory)

This foundation is similar to the Chanel Vitalumière but it’s specifically for blemish prone skin. The lightweight formula is buildable and never looks cakey on the skin. The lasting power isn’t that great but even if it sinks into the skin there won’t appear any blemishes.

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick (shade: 02 sand)

It gives a medium to full coverage with a matte finish. I like to apply it with my fingers because I think it blends better with the warmth. You can also use it as a concealer to hide acne-scars, blemishes and discoloration. The finish is matte but it can look greasy after a few hours so you’ll need a little bit of powder in the T-Zone.
